Google Suggest beta is a new tool available from the Google labs. As soon as you start to type something in the search field Google Suggest recognizes, a drop down menu appears under this field with several suggestions followed by the number of results available. It's done with XMLHttpRequest, but the Javascript on the page has been highly compressed, so it's hard to make sense of. The part added by Google is selected so when you keep typing it is deleted by what you type and hence a new suggestion (if available) will be given. You can also navigate the drop down list using the arrow keys to select a suggestion made by Google. Because suggestions are based on search popularity, it also becomes a quick and easy way to check keyword popularity or simply brainstorm new ideas for your business. And talking about innovation. Google is definitely innovating. You may not like it, it may not be the best, but it surely is raising the bar. At least someone is innovating for a change among the giants! This is what I get, when I typed "IBM MAINFRAME"
Interesting, Try GOOGLE SUGGEST Now! |
