As opposed to standard optical lenses which provide coverage of a field of view limited in width, the omni-directional optical lenses developed by the company cover a panoramic (full cylindrical scene) or a nearly spherical scene. It's likely to be a popular choice for police officers. For instance, officers stepping into hostage standoffs and other dicey situations now have something new to throw into the mix. The baseball-sized camera can be hurled from afar, survive the landing and wirelessly relay video and audio back to base from a distance of 200 feet for two hours. The EyeBall camera weighs around 453g is protected by a rugged rubber and polyurethane housing, allowing it to be thrown through windows or bounced off walls. Unsurprisingly, ODF Optronics has sold the devices to the Israeli military and to undisclosed military and law enforcement customers in Asia and Europe. Now US-based Remington Arms has won approval from the Federal Communications Commission to sell them domestically. Remington expects dozens of law enforcement groups to be buyers.

Israel based O.D.F. Optronics has created a small spherical sensor called the EyeBall that can transmit a 360-degree 'omni-directional' image and can hear everything within a 25-metre area. The tennis ball-sized digital camera is encased in three layers of rubber for durability and also has communication capabilities.
-Advanced Motion Detection Capabilities - detects motion in different regions of the image, by different parameters in each region.
