INDIA's first Mobile DVD Player Print E-mail

Philips Electronics India Ltd, a subsidiary of Netherlands-based Royal Philips Electronics, has introduced the Mobile DVD Player PET 710. Philips is the first consumer durable brand in the country to offer a product in this category.

Sit back, relax and immerse in movies on the go with the ultra cool and compact PET710 with 7-inch TFT LCD display. Enjoy your favorite DVD movies; savor your MP3-CD and CD music or playback your JPEG photos anytime, anyplace.

Weighing just 900 gms, it is easy for kids to handle. The Philips PET 710 costs Rs 19,990 and has a wide screen to enhance the movie viewing experience. The super-sleek Philips PET 710 has a 7" TFT screen. There is also the provision for two head phone connections, to ensure that two kids can watch it without fighting over it.

The rechargeable battery of the Philips PET 710 has a standby time of 2.5 hrs and also has a car cigarette outlet adaptor so that the battery can be charged while travelling in the car for unlimited entertainment. The built-in electronic skip protection helps avoid the video and audio "hiccups" that can arise from vibration and bumps often experienced while using your DVD player in a moving vehicle, says R Swaminathan, senior manager, Consumer Electronics.

The Philips Mobile DVD PET 710 plays virtually all formats like DVD, DVD+RW, DVD+R, picture CD, SVCD, video CD, CD, CD-R, CD-RW, MP3-CD. The functions on the Philips PET 710 include 'Disc Menu', 'Fast Backward', 'Fast Forward', 'Repeat', 'Shuffle Ploy', 'Slow Backward', 'Slow Forward', 'Zoom'. It also has a battery life indicator.

Some car brands offer high-quality, expensive, built-in DVD-based entertainment systems. The Philips Portable DVD PET 710, on the other hand, costs (a lot) less; can be used in multiple vehicles, then taken out of the car into the home, hotel, tent, bus, train, boat or waiting room and used with or without a big-screen TV. And, of course, their very portability makes them less susceptible to theft, points out the spokesman.

Swaminathan said the Philips Mobile DVD PET 710 can be connected to a home theatre. A 5.1 coaxial digital out makes connection to the home theatre decoder also very easy. It can be plugged into the TV, and used as a DVD player or used as CD portable in the car connected to your existing car deck through the car kit.
