 DV3020 is a compact Digital HandyCam & Still Camera, a product from Orite, a Taiwan based company. The main features of this camera includes MPEG4 Video Recording, 3.2M Digital Camera, Stereo MP3 Player, Voice Recording, USB Web Camera & Flash Memory Storage.
Orite DV3020 comes in an ultra-compact design in a blue shiny cover. It's one incredible, lightweight, pocket-sized unit and you get a Digital Video Camera, Digital Still Camera, USB 2.0 Web Cam, Digital Voice Recorder, MP3 Player and Mass Storage Device all together. This Orite DV 3020 six-in-one solution lets you take it almost anywhere. It's a true 3.0M CMOS sensor with 8X digital zoom with maximum interpolation up to 6.6 mega pixels and it has 16MB of built-in memory that makes it easy to capture lots of images.
The Orite DV 3020 is an advanced digital video camcorder with excellent MPEG4 technology to enhance image quality and recording time. With an optional 512MB memory card, the Orite DV 3020 can record the MPEG4 video with high image like DVD quality for sixty minutes. The MPEG-4 movie format of AVI is used in this Digital Video Camera. You can directly show the videos/pictures on the 2.0" LTPS LCD to get a clear look at your digital video (MPEG4) during recording and playback, and your digital photos (JPEG) before and after you take them. That leading-edge technology is better than TFT and it has lower power consumption and a brighter 120K-pixel display. It also includes a rechargeable Lithium Ion Battery that can work up to 3 hours with the LCD on.
It's very compact and there is no need to buy tapes or DVDs to record. You can use the built-in 16MB memory or additional 512 MB SD Card. But don't thing that it will replace your camcorder. The video quality is not comparable even with Sony's TRV Camcorders. But the main advantage is, it's very compact.
The photo quality is amazing and there is no need to buy another digital camera if you have this one. It supports upto 2976 x 2322 (3.2M) resolution (An ordinary photo is 640*480). And it's extendable upto 6.6 M by interpolation.

What I liked:

2.0" LTPS LCD display (But Orite MV3115 has only 1.5" Screen)
MPEG4 video format for larger image capacity.
30 frames per second (Similar type UMAX DV350 provides only 15 fps)
Stereo MP3 Player with earphone (You can just Copy Paste the MP3 Files)
8X Digital Zoom (Similar type 'Creative DIVI 428' has only 4X Digital Zoom)
Low Price (Same type 'Sony cybershot DSC M1' camera is available from Rs.30,000 only)
What I disliked:
No Optical Zoom (Digital Zoom may reduce the image quality)
Inbuilt Memory is only 16MB, You must buy an additional 512MB SD Card or this camera is useless
Maximum supported memory is only 512 MB, while we have 2GB memory cards to buy.
The bundled CD cotains ULEAD Video Studio 7.0, but the latest version is 9.0
Camera struks when swiched on with earphone(it may be only for me).
Availability: India (MediaTech, Indiatimes & ebay)
Price Range: Rs. 8000 to Rs.10000
Conclusion: Recommended for Still photographers, if no optical zoom required. If you need a camcorder for Rs.10000, this is the best choice(Don't go for YES products). But not recommended for professional video editors.

SD Card for Orite DV3020

Recently, I bought a 256MB SD card for my Orite DV3020 which I bought also early this year. When tried with vido mode, it hangs in just less than 1 minute. I dont know if it is the card or the camera. But it works (the camera & card) with still pictures. What could be the reason? | Try another Card

A simple solution is, Get another SD card from your friend and try to Video. If it's hangs, repair the camera. Else problem is with your card.

my charger for orite dv3020 is defective..it doesnt charge anymore...is there a service center here in manila philippines or is there any other charger compatible for the unit? please help me..i cannot use the unit w/o the cherger.. |
