Apple Video iPod (30GB) - Review Print E-mail
Written by Administrator
Thursday, 10 November 2005

First it held songs. Then photos. Then podcasts. Now iPod adds video to change the way you experience your music and media. Again. In lighter, thinner 30GB and 60GB models, the new iPod is music to your eyes.

The new video iPod has a 2 1/2-inch color display and is an update of the classic white iPod. Watching a TV show requires far more attention than listening to a song, so it would be no surprise if Apple Computer Inc.'s new video-capable iPod music player provided a less-than-satisfying viewing experience.

And the battery life has been extended to 12 hours on the 30 GB model and 20 hours on the 60 GB model when playing music.

DELL Inspiron 6000 Review - Best Laptop of 2005 Print E-mail
Written by Administrator
Monday, 07 November 2005

The Dell Inspiron 6000 is a very nice compromise between the different extremes of the laptop market. Weighing over 3 kg it is not an ultra-light machine, but it isn't a huge desktop replacement PC either. Instead it offers a bit of both, decent performance even with games, while still portable.

The Dell Inspiron 6000 incorporates Intel Centrino Mobile Technology (1.6GHz, 2MB Cache, 400 Mhz FSB) and Genuine Windows XP Professional to provide wireless connectivity anywhere. The new Inspiron 6000 has stunning 15.4" widescreen displays 30% more information than a standard 15" screen, ideal for viewing multiple documents at the same time, working with large spreadsheets or toggling between photo editing applications. The Inspiron 6000's Wide Aspect Display (up to 1920 x 1200 pixels) provides a wonderful panoramic view for side-by-side document viewing or DVD movie watching in the cinematic 16:10 aspect ratio.

Nokia 7610 Review Print E-mail
Written by Administrator
Tuesday, 01 November 2005

Based on the same series 60 platform used by the pioneering 7600 and 3660, the Nokia 7610 is a ground-breaking multimedia phone that features a 1 megapixel digital camera and up to 10 minutes of video recording. The phone comes with a Movie Director application, so you can shoot and edit your movies on the move.

This is one of Nokia's best phones, with full smartphone features, an excellent display and camera, and Bluetooth? wireless connectivity. The range of pre-installed and downloadable applications is immense, but the design is compact and lightweight (for a smartphone!) One niggle is the idiosyncratic keypad design which slows down typing and can be quite annoying. Audio quality isn't the best either, with mono MP3 sound only. Despite this, the 7610 is an outstanding smartphone that seems to be virtually free of the reliability and software problems that dog so many high-spec smartphones.
