Mozilla FireBox Review after one year Use Print E-mail

This month, Firefox celebrated its first birthday, with Firefox downloads crossing 100 million and market share touching 11.5%.

With 85% of web surfers using Explorer, Microsoft still dominates the browser market. But let's not forget that no one downloaded Explorer from the Net - they got it pre-loaded with Windows. Whereas, surfers came to know of Firefox mostly by word of mouth. Those who used it never looked at Explorer again.

Currently consumers and small businesses represent the bulk of the user base, but Firefox is also gaining traction among larger enterprises. For organizations that have already embraced Linux web servers and other open-source deployments, Firefox seems to be the next logical step in moving away from Microsoft-based operations and positive feedback from users confirms the speed, security and features of Firefox are worth a look.

Dreaming of a player that plays practically any disc format?

Do you want to enjoy flawless, true-to-life picture quality? Now you can! With Philips DVP players, staying home has never been better as the promised movies and music entertainment experience is delivered right to you.

The latest trend in DVD players is being able to read DivX and Xvid files. Both are codecs that compress video files to manageable sizes ? working just as MP3 does for music. The Philips DVP 642 recognizes not only DivX and Xvid files (movies) but also MP3s (music) and JPEG (photo) extensions and disc formats like VCDs, SVCDs and DVDs ? it?s like having your PC plugged to your TV and sound system. Thin and stylish, the player far exceeds the user?s expectations especially considering how information-challenged its manual is. If you are a consummated downloader of movies, TV shows and music, this is the DVD player for you.

Maruthi SWIFT - Review after 1000 KMs Print E-mail
Written by Administrator

As first impressions go, I came away with a mixed feeling about the Swift. It looks fabulous and drives really well. The power steering gave pin-point control (and this is inspite of the fact that I'm a very ocassional driver). Power delivery seemed to be bit lacking, but I can't be sure, if this is because of the car or because I was tentative and needed to be careful in the Bangalore traffic.

I have tested the mileage of the car very carefully and can say that in city driving conditions with AC on, it give about 11 to 12 kmpl with Premium petrol and on highway with AC on, it gives easily about 15 to 16 kmpl.

Again, it is a driver's car and its a sheer pleasure to drive this car with a very smooth and peppy engine. On highways, swift can easily cruise at 100+ speeds.

Altec Lansing XT1 Laptop USB Speakers Print E-mail
Written by Administrator
Saturday, 12 November 2005

If you own a Laptop, you already know that the sound quality definitely leaves a lot to be desired. It's certainly not meant to be full of Treble and Bass, rather just standard sound so you know what's going on. I actually think I would prefer to listen to music through a telephone than I would out of a laptop.

The Altec Lansing XT1 system is designed to change all that. In addition to its thin, innovative design with removable stands, the XT1 delivers superb sound and surprisingly deep bass thanks to four full-range neodymium micro drivers and bass enhancement technology.

And just like your laptop, the XT1 knows how to travel light. Because it's USB-powered, there's no need for a power supply and no batteries to forget. Plug it into your USB port, press play, and you'll be listening to the best portable sound you've ever heard from a laptop. Pack it up in its deluxe carrying case, and you're ready for your next trip.

The HP PSC 1315 All-in-One is one of the better AIO choices in its price range (Rs. 4,500), with relatively fast print speed and good print quality.

It also handles scanning and copying reasonably well but is limited by the lack of a fax modem. With the HP PSC 1315, you can create and print everything from reports to stickers, wallet-size photos, photo albums, iron-on T-shirt transfers, and more. It is designed for busy homes and home offices where space is premium and performance is essential.
